NEW “Star Wars” stickers now available in the PixelBlock Etsy Store !

Ever wanted to have something from a galaxy far, far away, but found that nothing seems to be flat / sticky / pixelated enough for your well defined tastes ?

Well have I got just the thing for you !

The “Star Wars” 10 character pack contains all of the favourites from the Original Trilogy, reduced to fashionably low resolution sprites perfect for everything from books to laptops and even for the console of your YT-1300 - now only $7+ on the PixelBlock Store !

And if that wasn’t enough good news, I thought I’d also do something a little special….

! IT’S STICKER GIVEAWAY TIME !

I think it’s best to keep this short to save everyone’s dashboards, so here are the basics  :

- Six “Star Wars” 10-Character sticker packs are up for grabs.

- Reblogging and Likes of this post each count as single entries to the giveaway - do both and double your chances !

- Following does NOT count as an entry, but might be a good idea if you want to catch the announcement of the winners when it ends.

- The drawing is open to everybody, everywhere ! As long as you can accept mail envelopes, you are good to go.

- The Giveaway ends on Saturday 26th April at 6:00 PM EST, so don’t be late !

- Winners will be chosen via Random Number Generator, and contacted via Private Message with further details - So make sure to allow messages to your blog !

- Don’t like Star Wars ? Winners can substitute the prize for any other sticker packs from the PixelBlock Store, as long as you don’t exceed the value of the originally offered “Star Wars” set.

So that is all there is to it. Get cracking !

I thought I’d take the opportunity to show off one of the projects I kept myself busy with whilst I was incommunicado - a rather large pixelated “Summer” landscape for a small website background.
I found it pretty challenging, especially since it deals with something much larger than a 40 x 40 canvas. It’s not something I do very often, but when I do - I think it turns out pretty decent.
(This landscape has been posted here with the permission of the client and has been watermarked, so please don’t go stealing it. It’ll be very naughty, and Gryffindor will lose at least 20 house points.)

I don’t really have any proper suprises planned for today, but there are quite a few impressive “pranks” out on the internet already from the likes of Google, League of Legends and Samsung that are well worth a look - which you can find in a handy dandy link right here.

Hope you are enjoying your day, and remember - always be vigilant !

Just in case you didn’t know - April Fools !

Lord Darth Vader, fearsomely wheezy face of the Galactic Empire and main antagonist of the original "Star Wars" trilogy, now given not one but two little pixel versions of himself.

I personally quite like the look of that “bronzed” version, but nothing quite beats the classics …

Admiral Ackbar, fishy fleet commander of the Rebel Alliance and popular fellow from the Star Wars universe, now given a much improved pixel do over.

R2 D2, the plucky little astromech droid and mobile swiss army knife from the “Star Wars” series, now given a toned down little pixel art do over.

Totally not part of anything for the store coming up soon. Nuh uh. No siree …

Egon Spengler, trusty technical genius and major character from acclaimed 80’s comedy “Ghostbusters”, now given a miniature pixel makeover in tribute to the late Harold Ramis’ passing.

May he rest in peace.

Ezio Auditore Da Firenze, master assassin and rather important looking fellow from Ubisoft’s kickass "Assassin’s Creed" Series, now given a slightly more flattering pixel art reproduction for his bounty posters.

Because if you want to blend into an urban environment, wearing bright colours and suspicious clothing is exactly what they would never expect. Genius !

Thought I’d put up a new temporary profile avatar whilst I work on something a little bit more snazzy.

It’s a wooly hat wearing a hat. Oh yeah.

Robocop, nigh indestructible (and very badass) law enforcement cyborg and titular protagonist of the cult "Robocop" franchise, now given a rather fetching little avatar head based on his iconic helm.

Peace, Justice, a rather large gun and a bulletproof chassis make quite the convincing argument against crime, wouldn’t you say ?

Jack Sparrow, daring drunkard and fashionably wobbly pirate captain from Disney’s “Pirates Of The Carribean”, now given a little pixelated update.
A little bit messy perhaps - but that’s what you get for working with dreadlocks.

Bender Bending Rodriguez, the alcoholic and relentlessly immoral robot from classic comedy cartoon “Futurama”, now turned into a shiny metal head for which one can peruse indefinitely*.

*Shiny Metal Ass not included; not a chew toy; please keep away from humanity.

Clank, the highly resourceful little robot and titular sidekick from Insomniac’s “Ratchet and Clank" series, now turned into a very shiny little avatar head for you to reminisce about.

Just a few more of these and then I’ll figure a way to get them all as downloadable mouse cursors on Tumblr. It’s going to be pretty cool.
