Random Characters Doing Random Things

Sometimes, when I have a few minutes of spare time, I do a little experimentation. Often, the outcome is slightly silly, albeit in a wonderful sort of way.

This is one of those things.

Stan The Salesman, the fast-talking, finger-snapping and foot-tappingest entrepreneur encountered throughout the classic “Monkey Island” adventure game series, now given his very own 23 x 27 pixel mini-tribute.

Is there anything he hasn’t tried to sell at some point ?

Is it a boy ? Is it a girl ? All we know is that it’s the latest cuddly crochet creation to hit the PixelBlock store - the ever wonderful Mr Saturn from Nintendo’s “Mother” series !

Measuring in at an adorably compact 2 1/2 Inches tall (4 inches if you count the hair!), this little bundle of yarn-based joy features it’s very own set of hand-twirled poseable whiskers, pudgy nose and hand-knit bowtie, making him one of the most eminently huggable aliens you are ever likely to meet.

Put him on your desk ! Leave him on your sofa ! Just don’t leave him near the coffee machine. Saturnian Coffee always has a little bit of a funny aftertaste …

Also comes with a FREE 1 1/2 inch tall sticker of the Pixelblock-ified version -  as featured on the Pixelblock Tumblr blog.

Want one ? Check it out now - only available on the PixelBlock Etsy Store !

This little space fellow was actually another concept avatar for that “BoomSplosion” game idea, but one that never quite panned out.

I resurrected him and changed him slightly as part of another concept for some game design students I’m working with, but alas he once again met a terrible fate.

Maybe one day I’ll find something for him to do …
